The Geemarc CL400 is designed to help those with a high frequency hearing loss, a problem affecting up to 95% of hearing impaired people. Those with high-frequency hearing loss can't hear sounds like st and ch, so words like stair and chair sound like air. Just increasing the volume doesnt always help because it amplifies all frequencies. The Geemarc CL400 telephone features a built-in sound equaliser that selectively increases the volume of high or low frequency sounds. This equaliser should help those with a high-frequency hearing loss.

The Geemarc CL400 has the same listening sound as the CL200 but also includes a volume boost in the handset which will increase the callers speech still further on an occasional basis, for those difficult to hear words in an already amplified conversation.

The CL400 has an illuminated screen for 'Caller ID' information*, that will also display the dialled number, names and numbers stored in the memory, as well as call duration the time and the date.

A particularly good feature for those with limited dexterity, or who are slow dialing, is that number dialing/entry may be done 'on hook' without either lifting the handset or connecting to the exchange. The entered digits are displayed allowing the number to be checked - particularly good when dialing international calls with long numbers. The CL400 is then connected to the exchange when either the handset is lifted or handsfree selected.
