This Geemarc CL200+ is the next generation up from the previous CL200. In our view the Geemarc CL200+ is a measurable improvement on the already successful CL200. It's level of amplification is greatly increased and the hands free speakerphone facility is a useful, popular feature. It is, as far as we know the loudest corded amplified phone currently on the market. The CL200 is our top of the range domestic model with excellent performance and some good features specifically for deaf people.

The Geemarc CL200+ is hearing aid compatible and is designed to help those with a high frequency hearing loss, a problem affecting up to 95% of hearing impaired people. Those with high-frequency hearing loss cant hear sounds like st and ch, so words like stair and chair sound like air. Just increasing the volume doesnt always help because it amplifies all frequencies.

Incoming speech can be amplified by up to 35dB. The Geemarc CL200+ has a tone control, which is useful to better match individuals hearing loss. Other features on the Geemarc CL200+ phone include outgoing speech volume control, adjustable ringer level and tone and a visual ringer indicator.

Compared to the CL100 the CL200 Plus has a brighter strobe, a louder ring and the added features of an optional bed vibrator and there is also an optional Direct Vibe handset that converts the sound to vibrations, these vibrations are then transmitted to the bones above the ear, aiding the caller in hearing the conversation better.. The CL200 requires mains power.

The CL200+ has a monitor speaker to allow 'on hook' dialing, a useful facility for those with limited dexterity, and the handset need not be picked up until the call is answered.The Geemarc CL200+ has improved upon this feature of the original CL200 and now features a good speakerphone facility to allow for handsfree two-way conversation. This is often a popular feature with deaf people.

The Geemarc CL200+ telephone features a built-in sound equaliser that selectively increases the volume of high or low frequency sounds. This equaliser should help those with a high-frequency hearing loss. The Geemarc CL200+ is a corded telephone with a large button keypad and many useful features including the ability to amplify incoming speech. The Geemarc CL200+ produces a loop signal which makes it suitable for use by people who wish to use their hearing aid switched to the “T” setting.

I purchased the CL200+ telephone for my 90 year old mother-in-law who has sight and hearing problems. It is easy to set up and easy to use. There are 9 memory buttons down the right hand side and a pull out list beside them where you can write which button is for which person.
As my M-I-L wears a panic button, we used the other three 'emergency memory buttons' for the 3 people she rings most regulrly.
This phone also has 1571 messaging if you wish to use it. The ring is loud and can be made louder. The receiving voice volume and tone can be adjusted to suit individual users and hearing aids.
Another excellent feature is that the handpiece can be put down either way round so that it can never be put down wrong and therefore off the hook.
It is larger than most phones but needs to be to meet the visual requirements of the partially sighted. After just a day my mother-in-law was singing it's praises as being 'just the thing!' Should her sight and hearing worsen there is a strobe light which can be set to flash when the phone rings.
All in all a good purchase at a good price and with an extremely fast service from M2C. I did phone first for advice before purchasing to be sure I had chosen the right model and was very pleased with the patient, courteous service and advice I received. It was delivered within 24 hrs.
